At the two key events on the international design calendar Ernestomeda will be presenting the eclectic Carré kitchen designed by Marc Sadler and inaugurating the Ernestomeda Loft, the showroom specifically created for the Contract Business Milan, xx February 2010 – At the two key events in the international design calendar Ernestomeda, leader in the top-end designer fitted kitchen market, will be unveiling Carré, the new kitchen by Marc Sadler, and inaugurating the new Ernestomeda Loft with an exclusive event “Ernestomeda and Absolut Vodka: An Extraordinary Experience in the Kitchen”. ERNESTOMEDA CARRE’ Carré is the outcome of three years of work in association with Marc Sadler, who has chosen Ernestomeda as the ideal partner for developing a new concept in kitchen design focusing on versatility and avant-garde styling: it is thus no surprise that these years of research and development have yielded an extremely multifaceted, innovative product. The handle is one of the distinctive features of the kitchen designed by Marc Sadler for Ernestomeda. This multifaceted kitchen has a trendsetting detail: the “non-handle handle” , which transforms the conventional fixture into a recess in the door, incredibly convenient and stylish. Carré’s major innovative content lies not just in the beauty of this detail, but also in the vast assortment of solutions possible in terms of shapes and sizes. And as well as this elegant avant-garde stylistic feature and the virtually infinite number of combinations of materials for the doors, work-tops and handles (45 matt and 45 gloss lacquered colours for doors and handles, wood in rosewood and olive versions, or steel), Carré offers another distinctive characteristic, its colour: many different colour options for every single part of the composition allow the consumer to decide every detail of his kitchen to suit his own needs and preferences. The perfect incarnation of the Ernestomeda philosophy, Carré pays homage to the kitchen as a place for sharing, the centre of the home’s daily life. “A lot of people say they detest the rigid structure of the many minimalist kitchens on the market,” states Marc Sadler, “and everyone agrees that the kitchen is also the room that best reflects the taste of the people who live in the home, who love to personalise it with their favourite symbols, family heirlooms or holiday souvenirs. This is the starting-point for Carré: if I had to choose just one word to describe it, that word would be “multifaceted”, reflecting its ability to be all things to all persons.” Carré is truly the ideal response to the consumer’s many and varied needs: “Carré is the outcome of three years of work in association with Marc Sadler,” explains Alberto Scavolini, Ernestomeda CEO, “and the end product of an extremely complex design process. The crafting of the door with its handle, and the development of a new industrial process for this specific product detail, required a great deal of work on our side, but we are proud of this achievement, since we are sure that this major innovation will keep Ernestomeda at the leading edge of its market.” CARRE’ TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Tall cabinet: ice gloss lacquered Tall cabinet handles: ice gloss lacquered Island: black gloss lacquered Island handles: semi-gloss steel Top Layer: 3 cm high in corian, 3 layers: glacierwhite colour, nocturne colour, glacierwhite Island Top Module Template: semi-gloss steel with template containers in satined steel Island hood Regent: nuance red gloss painted steel Coordinates of the Ernestomeda stand: International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition - Hall 15 stands number A11 B12 - aisles A - B at Milan Rho Pero exhibition centre (subway line 1 – Rho station) THE ERNESTOMEDA LOFT IS BORN During the FuoriSalone, long-established nerve-centre for world-wide design, Ernestomeda will be inaugurating the Ernestomeda Loft, combining the launch of Carré with the presentation of the company’s new sales space. Ernestomeda Loft is a showroom of more than 360 m2 at viale Col di Lana 8, Milan, intended to handle ErmestoMeda’s Contract Business and thus designed to serve the professionals in the real estate world (architects, property developers and construction firms). To mark the opening of the Loft, Ernestomeda is paying a special homage to the bottle of Absolut Vodka, an international lifestyle icon, by using the versatility of the materials of the Carré kitchen to create handles in the unique shape of this famous bottle. During the FuoriSalone, the Ernestomeda Loft will be the stage for events open to the public: The official opening will take place on 15th April with an exclusive cocktail party in association with Absolut Vodka, “Ernestomeda and Absolut Vodka: an extraordinary experience in the kitchen”: a sensorial experience made truly unique by the skill of the Absolut Mixologist and the super-refined taste of the Electrolux Chef, who will introduce guests to a new way of savouring drinks made with the Absolut flavors, the flavoured vodkas made with natural ingredients, in the kitchen in combination with special dishes made on the spot. During the FuoriSalone, Absolut Vodka will also be playing a star role every evening with the Absolut Worlds Nights, themed aperitif sessions open to the public presenting Absolut Drinks viewed through the lens of the famous fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth: a new creative association also involving the actresses Kate Beckinsale and Zooey Deschanel. Inspired by the concept of In An Absolut World, the ideal dimension where everyone is free to express themselves, von Unwerth has produced a homage to the cocktail classics by creating 4 special worlds, each celebrating the history of a cocktail, reinterpreted with the aid of the Absolut Flavors that make each drink a genuine sensorial experience. On 14th, 16th, 17th and 18th April, visitors to the Fuorisalone will be able to view the Absolut Drinks photographs and savour the cocktails skilfully created by the bartender Grazia Di Franco, the first Italian Absolut Mixologist.
