"Corian® Nouvel Lumieres", an interior design project built around creative lighting technology and state-of-the-art domotics, conceived by the acknowledged master of contemporary architecture Jean Nouvel, is going to be one of the outstanding events at the Milan design festival, from 17th to 23rd April 2007, coinciding with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (International furniture show).
Ernestomeda, which has already worked in partnership with DuPont to build the futuristic kitchen in DuPont™ Corian® designed by Zaha Hadid for Eurocucina-Salone del Mobile 2006, has now taken up a fresh challenge by offering its assistance to Jean Nouvel and DuPont as the ideal expert adviser on the functional needs, design trends and technological innovations intrinsic to today’s kitchens.
The "Corian® Nouvel Lumieres" living-space, consisting of several communicating areas – living area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom – will feature a variety of innovative applications of solid surface DuPont™ Corian®, in a design language founded on multisensoriality and the contamination of spaces and functions.
The dialogue between light, surfaces and high-tech applications interprets and represents the outcome of research into the evolution of contemporary living, created in Corian®, an extremely versatile material and the ideal container – as used by Jean Nouvel – for domotic design features, touch-control panels and heating membranes.
Ernestomeda, with its historic mission of working with designers and architects of international importance to create kitchens with exclusive forms for the discerning, cultured consumer, has understood that seeking new aesthetic models and experimenting with new materials and finishes is one route to defining the new dimension in a domestic lifestyle undergoing constant, unstoppable transformation.
The "Corian® Nouvel Lumieres" is a major opportunity for sharing this mission with other key players in experimentation and innovation.
Apart from Ernestomeda and DuPont, the project also involves contributions from other companies and brands, including Targetti (lighting systems), Legrand and Bticino (advanced domotic systems), Listone Giordano Contract (panelling and floor coverings) and Scholtés-Indesit Company (appliances).
"Corian® Nouvel Lumieres" will be presented to the press at Officine Stendhal (via Stendhal 35, on the corner with via Solari) at H 16.00 on 17th April 2007. A press conference will be held at H. 16.30, with the participation of Jean Nouvel.
The opening party (invitation only) will take place from H 18.30 to H 23.00 on 17th April.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 18th to 23rd April, from H 10.00 to H 22.00.
